Who We Are

Who We Are

You’ll find us wearing cowboy boots and well worn jeans most days (no, we are not cowboys), singing along with our music, or searching for that new tune that gets the creative juices flowing.

Raised in central Illinois, childhood included room for building forts, birdhouses, and just nailing things together with whatever scraps I could find, just because it was fun! Born into a family where creativity was common and anything could be done with a little planning (or not), I grew up with a bent on aspiring to try new things. I got my first pneumatic nailgun at the age of thirteen, and promptly built a box out of pallet material. I would nail together anything I could find; sometimes the occasional finger.

In my youth, I began working with my dad, an electrician by trade, in various construction settings. After my formal schooling, I began working with trim carpenters, excavators, and everything in between.

At the age of nineteen, I then started a small construction company, specializing in custom remodels and service work in the suburbs of Chicago.

Through this exposure of construction, design, and fabrication, I began incorporating these details into furniture, an idea that evolved and is still alive today. Moxie was born out of the absence of a creative outlet for our ideas.

We like good design, vintage logos, good food, stone structures, live music, raw materials.

Our Products

Our Products

All of our products are designed in house; material is gathered, built, and sold locally. We try to use vintage, dismantled, refurbished products every chance we get. We keep it small because we think it’s better that way. None of our products are exactly alike, so you have an original piece with its own character and story.
